Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Nunukan Police Officer The initials Brigadier SL will not be sanctioned by internal sanctions after sharing CCTV footage of the Nunukan Police Chief, AKBP Syaiful Anwar’s persecution against him to social media to become viral.
It is known, the SL Brigadier who served as an information and communication technology (ICT) officer at the Resort Police was examined by the Profession and Security Division (Propam) of the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara). The examination was carried out on Brigadier SL in his capacity as a victim.
“There is no investigation regarding it (the distribution of the video). We focus on the persecution,” said the Head of Public Relations of the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara) Kombes Budi Rachmat when confirmed, Thursday (28/10).
“The viral case is not being processed,” he added.
He explained that the Propam investigators were investigating the beatings carried out by the Police Chief. The victim’s statement, he said, was needed as one of the administrative requirements as well as the deepening of the case.
According to him, investigators conducted a complete examination of the alleged abuse.
“If only those who were examined were examined, but the victim would not be incomplete,” he explained.
According to him, the victim shared the video to a number of chat rooms of his relatives in the police just as a form of outpouring (vent).
According to him, the victim did not have the courage to report according to internal police procedures after being attacked by her commander. As a result, the SL Brigadier took advantage of his position to access the recordings to share stories with his contemporaries.
“The problem is that the story has gone viral,” he added.
The police, he said, would make improvements to address the anxiety of their members after they did not dare to report acts of violence by the leadership.
“This means that we know that people reporting all this time have prioritized public service for reporting people. So there is a mechanism, there is a reporting place at Propam. If the police go to Propam, the community goes to SPKT,” he said.
The beatings allegedly started when the Police Chief was attending the peak event of the Bhayangkari Movement Unity Day (HKGB) via video conference with the National Police Headquarters and the Kaltara Regional Police.
However, in the middle of the event, it was reported that there was a technical problem that made the Police Chief summon the victim. It’s just that he never gave an answer or met the Chief of Police.
This is what allegedly caused the Police Chief to be annoyed and disapproved of the SL Brigadier who served in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) section of the Resort Police, which then led to acts of persecution.
