Santo Domingo.- With the objective of adding the vision of the Dominican Republic to the discussion on the challenges and opportunities offered by Latin America and the Caribbean to promote a sustainable economic and social developmentthe Dominican vice president, Raquel Penawill participate in the Council of the Americas (COA) Symposium 2024which will be held in Miami, Florida.
During the development of the event, Raquel Peña will be responsible for leading one of the key spaces of the symposium when giving the lecture “A Country in Transformation: The leadership of the Dominican Republic in sustainable investments”a moment that will be succeeded by a conversation in which the vice president will also participate along with the executive director of Grupo Cisneros, Adriana Cisnerosto delve into the strategies for attracting foreign investment.
Raquel Peña, who also chairs the Investment Promotion Office from the Dominican Republic, will join the event at noon this Wednesday, October 30 after arriving in Miami, where she will be received by the Dominican consul in Miami, Geanilda Vasquez.
Within the framework of his work agenda In the aforementioned American city, Peña will lead the unveiling of a gallery of former dominican consulsthe putting into circulation of the institutional memory of the Dominican consulate in Miami and will hold various meetings to exchange good practices on topics of interest and strengthen the country relations in the international context.
El Council of the Americas Symposium 2024by its name in English, is a space of international dialogue that brings together business leaders and government representatives, to put on the table the analysis and understanding of the contemporary political, social and economic context that permeates the Western Hemisphere.
Likewise, topics will be specifically addressed to promote the development and growth of Latin America and the Caribbean without affecting the environmentsuch as the energy transition, digital inclusion and the future of technology in the region, among others.
For this edition we expect the participation of more than 500 leaders representatives of multinational corporations, multi-Latin venture capital firms, Latin American technology unicorns, media and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Vice President Raquel Peña will return to the country on Wednesday the 30thin the afternoon, to continue with his responsibilities, in the city of Santiago.
