Vice Minister of Health: “Management of Hernando Cevallos bought vaccines in excess and with contracts about to expire”

The Deputy Minister of Public Health, Joel Candia Bricenonoted that on Monday it will be known how many vaccines would have expired until this Saturday April 30th. In addition, he said that the officials of the Ministry of Health they are in different regions verifying the vaccination process so that they are not lost.

“We are probably going to see on Monday how many have expired. So far we are insisting on vaccinating, we cannot say the figures. There are some regions where they are probably not going to expire. We are in the vaccination plan, today ends. All advisors they are in the regions so that the vaccines do not expire,” he said.

Recently, the Comptroller General alerted the Ministry of Health that more than one million 40 thousand doses of the pediatric vaccine against COVID-19 of the laboratory Pfizer would expire this Saturday April 30which would cause its loss and the affectation of the resources of the State

During a visit to the city of Ica, Candia indicated that during the management of the former health minister Hernando Cevallos vaccines were bought in excess, he also reported that during the week they will meet with the Comptroller General.

“The management of Dr. Cevallos has bought a large number of vaccines in excess and with contracts about to expire. I thank all the Health personnel who are doubling their efforts so that they go house to house,” he said.

On the other hand, the Vice Minister of Public Health referred to the increase in dengue cases and five deaths in the last week in the region, Candia asked for greater commitment from local authorities and the population, who must make good use of water and follow the recommendations of health personnel.
