Vice Chancellor Scholz wants companies to have tests

Will soon be part of the Corona resolutions?

Vice Chancellor and SPD candidate for Chancellor Olaf Scholz wants compulsory testing to be introduced in companies. So far it is up to companies whether to offer tests or not, so many companies are not doing it yet. “Only six out of ten employees have so far received an offer from their employer to be tested regularly,” says the SPD candidate for chancellor of the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung”.

The time of roll calls is over

Scholz does not want to wait any longer, so he said that the time for roll calls was over. He is dissatisfied with the current test situation: “That is far too little, our agreement aimed at a test rate of 90 percent.” A duty is now to help out: “We must obligate the companies to make their employees a test offer. That should be part of our Corona resolutions in the coming week.”

Many companies have tried to protect their employees as best they can in the pandemic. More home offices were introduced, masks were distributed and tests were offered – but not for all of them: “That could also be seen as a national obligation. There are things that you just do because it’s proper.”
