There will be no more original games from the studio.
Activision has announced in the last hours that Vicarious Visions, the studio responsible for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, will be taken over by Blizzard to work on company titles.
The first rumors suggest that a remake of Diablo II would be the first project as part of Blizzard, since there will be no more original games and the 200 employees will focus their efforts “entirely on games and initiatives” of the company.
These have been the words of a representative of Activision Blizzard to Gameindustry:
“After a while collaborating with Vicarious Visions and developing a great relationship, Blizzard realized that there was an opportunity for that studio to provide them with long-term support.”
