Already stepfather to his partner’s daughter, Catherine Robert, Vianney became the father of a little Edgar in October 2021. At the time, his life as an artist took up a lot of his time, which prevented him from enjoying his family life. In 2023, he made a radical decision and stopped performing on stage. “I need to take a break because it’s true that I have a baby and I really like watching him grow. He adds that managing the pace and looking after a baby was becoming complicated. “Then, you’re jet-lagged because on tour, you go to bed at 4am and when you have a baby, you get up at 4am. It’s physically too hard, not compatible,” he says. As a father, his presence is as indispensable as that of the mother and he could not let his partner take care of everything. “And above all, when you have a child, you have to be there. We count a lot on women for that, but dads are important. So of course, I try to be there.”adds Vianney. Even though he has stopped performing, the singer does not intend to stop music. Indeed, when he announced he was taking a break, he also said he wanted to continue writing songs.

In 2020, Vianney revealed in his album Let’s not wait, the piece Father-in-lawwhich he wrote for his stepdaughter, whom his partner, Catherine Robert, had from a previous relationship. In July 2024, he confided in the writing of this song on the show The secrets of the tubesbroadcast on BFMTV. “I really wanted to find the right words, I know I’m sending her a message when she’s a little girl, but which will remain when she’s a mother. The pressure on this song was therefore quite enormous,” confides the coach of The Voice. He explains that his daughter-in-law is very proud of this piece, “she wants me to play her all the time”, he adds. “This song is part of our family history. It was a strong moment in our development.” A creation filled with love.
