JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Hutama Karya (Persero) is accelerating development toll road longest in the province of North Sumatra (North Sumatra), namely, Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road along 143.5 kilometers.
To date, the construction progress of the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat toll road has reached 63.08 percent and land acquisition is 87.7 percent.
By using this toll road, you will make your way to the Super Priority Destination (DSP). Lake Toba only takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours which previously could have taken 4 hours via the regular route (arterial road).
The construction of this toll road was assigned to Hutama Karya, two other State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), namely PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk and a subsidiary of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, namely PT Waskita Toll Road (WTR).
The three then formed a Business Entity Toll road (lodging) namely PT Hutama Marga Waskita
(Hamawas) for the construction of the project with an investment value of Rp. 13.45 trillion.

For the funding scheme, BUJT does sharing capital with a percentage of Hutama Karya 94.08 percent, Jasa Marga and WTR each 2.96 percent.
Director of Operations III Hutama Karya Koentjoro said that the implementation of the Toll Road project
Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat, the company through Hamawas is working on
construction in sections 1 through 4, including the 96.5 . High Cliff Junction
kilometer.
While sections 5 and 6 are government construction support or Viability Gap Fund (VGF).
“In its construction, this toll road also involves other sub-contractors/entrepreneurs, both national and local scale entrepreneurs,” explained Koentjoro in his written statement, Monday (21/3/2022).
Koentjoro argues, these entrepreneurs help Hutama Karya in completing the achievement of the toll road operational targets as well as the company’s commitment to create jobs around the project.
Later, this connectivity infrastructure will become an alternative for people who will go to Lake Toba.
“Not only will it reduce travel time, but the existence of this toll road is also expected to facilitate and smooth the flow of goods traffic (logistics) from Medan to Parapat, and vice versa,” he concluded.
