Prince Harry and his wife have not yet announced their decision to attend the ceremony, which will take place next May
A spokesman for Prince Harry said Sunday that the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Megan, have been invited to attend the coronation ceremony of his father, King Charles, but have not yet confirmed whether they will attend.
The couple have made insulting remarks about King Charles, Harry’s elder brother Prince William, and other members of the royal family in recently published memoirs, a Netflix documentary and a series of TV interviews, overshadowing preparations for the event in May.
A spokesman for Prince Harry said: “I can confirm that the Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office in connection with the coronation.”
“We will not now disclose the Duke and Duchess’ final decision on attending the ceremony,” he added.
For its part, Buckingham Palace did not comment on the issue of the invitation and the presence of the prince and his wife.
