–The Progressive Reform Party in Suriname (VHP) has just released a statement in response to the report that appeared in the press and on Patricia Etnel’s Facebook page. In it, the NPS indicated politician that she will go to war with the VHP.
The reason for this is that the VHP -according to Etnel- would have started an attack against her and her son. Earlier in the day it was announced that the son of a DNA member would be involved in the theft of a bull. So it would be Etnel’s son and she thinks it is a scenario of the VHP, which is set up against her son.
In a statement, the VHP says:
“The VHP does not consider it desirable at this stage to comment on the message. The NPS has called an emergency board meeting and will meet tonight to sort things out and discuss it with each other,” said the party, which says it is awaiting the outcome of this meeting.
“The VHP as a coalition partner has a historic relationship with the NPS. The VHP is of the opinion that NPS should first deliberate internally, after which the VHP and the total coalition can consult. The VHP group also has a similar position. But we as a party strongly disapprove of the accusation that the VHP is behind this case,” the VHP said in a statement released on Wednesday evening.
