There is a grand music party planned when the winner of this year’s MGP will be chosen on Saturday night.

Host Annika Momrak, who herself won the MGP junior in 2013, kicked it all off by singing the Eurovision song “Rise Like a Phoenix”.

The winner will be Norway’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.

Beforehand, Subwoolfer are clear odds favorites to win. The masked duo, along with NorthKid, Christian Ingebrigtsen, Anna-Lisa Kumoji and Elsie Bay, were already pre-qualified.

The others have fought their way to the finals through semi-finals.

– It will actually be a pretty exciting evening. Simply because none of these songs are good enough to be obvious winners, says VG’s reviewer Tor Martin Bøe.
