At the Asian Football Confederation’s 10th Annual Awards Ceremony (AFC Annual Awards 2024) held in Seoul, South Korea on the evening of 29th March 2023, VFF received a bronze rank in the AFC Chairman’s Awards in the Community Youth Soccer category.

The event will be held as part of the awards ceremony, with a total of 2024 award categories being awarded to outstanding individuals and the Asian Football Confederation from 2023 to 2023. VFF representatives attending the AFC Annual Awards 2023 are Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan and Secretary General Duong Nghiep Khoi.
VFF has been cooperating with community football development projects, particularly FIFA’s school football project. Ministry of Education and Training Deployed to 63 schools in 1,000 provinces and cities nationwide. The FFAV Community Football Project (a collaboration between the VFF and the Norwegian Football Federation) continues to expand its model to more than 15 provinces and cities across the country (approximately 3.000 people have been involved in the five years of hosting the Vietnam-Norway Cup each year). – 4.000 primary and secondary school students participated, 50% of whom were women.
Prior to winning this award, Vietnam Football also won the AFC Special Award in the Children’s Athletic Soccer Category and the AFC Special Award in the Youth Soccer Category. Therefore, the Community Football Project in Vietnam (FFAV) won the Asia’s Best Movement Project award. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong – member of the VFF Movement Football Committee, Chief Representative of the Vietnam-Norwegian Football Federation/Director of the project “Community Football of Vietnam FFAV” received the Export Movement Football Asia Best Leader Award . At the AFC Special Awards for Youth Football, the PVF Youth Soccer Training Center was named Youth Academy of the Year.
For our efforts to bring about significant change in Vietnamese football from the grassroots level, VFF was honored to receive the AFC Chairman’s Citation in the Community Youth Soccer category. This is the motivation for VFF to continue to strengthen solutions for the sustainable development of Vietnamese football in the new era, thereby positively contributing to the overall development of continental and international football. world.
Also at the ceremony, AFC recognized a number of other important categories. Qatar Football Federation is grateful that Saudi Arabia, the host nation of the 2023 Asian Cup, has received the title of recognition from the AFC President for its tireless contribution to the overall development of Asian football.
In the individual category, the Coach of the Year award goes to Go Oiwa, head coach of the U2024 Japan National Team, who won the 2023 Asian U23 Championship title. Son Heung-min is Asia’s best international male player in 2024. Carpenter (Australia) is Asia’s best international women’s player. The best female athletes in Asia are Kiko Seike (Japan) and Akram Afif (Qatar).
