VfB Stuttgart is not planning any winter transfers

Stuttgart (AP) – VfB Stuttgart, plagued by bad luck with injuries, is relying on its returnee in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga and is currently not planning any winter purchases.

“We have currently not planned any additions,” said sports director Sven Mislintat of the German press agency. “Normally all players are fit again in January and the competition becomes correspondingly more intense. If so, something is more likely to happen on the sales side.”

Winger Silas Katompa Mvumpa is now back in team training after his cruciate ligament rupture. Striker star Sasa Kalajdzic, who had operated on the shoulder and was the Swabians’ best scorer in the preseason with 16 league goals, is hoping for a comeback on the first round of the second half of the season at SpVgg Greuther Fürth (January 8).
