VfB Offenbach is about to stay up in the Frankfurt East football group league. After the 6-2 win over 1. FC Langen, coach Peter Lack’s team still needs a point to save. VfB can already get this this Tuesday in the catch-up game at home on Bierbrauerweg (7.30 p.m.) against champion Sportfreunde Seligenstadt or at the latest on Sunday in a direct duel at Türk Gücü Hanau, the only remaining competitor in the fight against sixth from last place. All the other teams previously threatened with relegation saved themselves on the penultimate matchday.
VfB Offenbach – 1. FC Langen 6: 2 (3: 0). “We were really happy,” said VfB coach Peter Lack after the 6-2 win over FC Langen. His team may not have been saved yet, but they have everything in their own hands when it comes to staying up. There was a surprise in the goalkeeper position: Marco Mirizzi, 43 years old and actually coach of the A-League club TV Hausen, jumped into the breach for the red-suspended Valentino Di Bella. Langen was initially strong, but thanks to an outstanding Imran Gulzar, Offenbach took the momentum to their side. The 3-0 at break was already a clear statement. In the second half, the Lack-Elf had an easy game and was able to save a few strengths for today’s kick against Sportfreunde Seligenstadt. Lack does not expect gifts from the master. “I’ve known Lars Schmidt for a long time, he wants to win every game.”

Sportfreunde Seligenstadt – Türk Gücü Hanau 2:0 (0:0). Türk Gücü Hanau was also unable to stop the impressive winning streak of Sportfreunde Seligenstadt. The Hanau points were so urgently needed. The “Reds”, who left the field as winners in every game in 2022, cracked the 100 point mark (now 101) with a 2-0 win, while the Hanau team stayed at 46 points. They won’t be enough in the end, Türk Gücü must now hope for support from Seligenstadt against VfB Offenbach and then a home win on the last day of the game against Offenbach. The form of Hanau is not bad at all. “We held up well tactically in Seligenstadt and didn’t allow anything in the first half apart from a shot across the crossbar,” praised TG spokesman Adem Arslan. Shortly after half-time, Onur Bulut had a great chance, who rushed towards the hosts’ goal alone, but failed to put the ball in the box. In the 55th minute, Marcel Fleckenstein punished a defensive error by the guests with the 1:0. Türk Gücü didn’t give up, but didn’t really get the ball rolling. When Kevin Knecht made it 2-0 with a shot into the short corner in the 88th minute, the preliminary decision had been made on Aschaffenburger Straße.
Seligenstadt: Schneider – Schüßler, Zormpalas, Friess, Fleckenstein (71. Lageres), Serra, Strechie (82. Weitz), Purcell, Hertrich, Knecht, P. Traut (21. Marton)

Kickers Obertshausen – SG Nieder-Roden 4: 4 (3: 2). Although there was a lack of sporting explosiveness, the spectators at the Kickers sports grounds did not have to regret coming. It was a lively back and forth with a total of eight goals. Both teams scored a goal in overtime. “It suits our current situation that we’re playing a draw,” said Kickers coach Marcel Dindorf. Due to individual mistakes, his team fell 0:2 behind, but turned it around shortly before the break. Following a corner, Simon Prechtel netted to make it 3-2. SG Nieder-Roden showed morale and equalized twice in half-time. In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Fabio Spataro saved the Rodgauers a point.

Germania Klein-Krotzenburg – FC Gelnhausen 1: 1 (1: 0). At Germania Klein-Krotzenburg, the last home game was all about saying goodbye. In addition to long-time goalkeeper Marcel Aschenbach, three other regular players, Andre Scheel, Sebastian Schuschkleb and Filippo Serra, are moving to Offenbach’s top division club KV Mühlheim. On the pitch, it was only about something for the guests from FC Gelnhausen. GFC got the point they needed to save the game in the second half with Lukas Juling’s equalizer. Marvin Schwab scored the opening goal for Germania after 23 minutes. “Gelnhausen put on a lot of pressure in the second half and deserved the point in a game that was well played by both sides,” summed up Klein-Krotzenburg spokesman Ralf Walter.
Klein-Krotzenburg: Aschenbach – Schultz, Scheel, Kiefer, Seker, Schwab (62. Bergmann), Walter, Holl (85. Doschek), Eckert, Toskovic, Kohnke
Tore: 1:0 Schwab (23.), 1:1 Juling (68.)
FSV Bad Orb – SVG Steinheim 0:3 (0:1). The Steinheimers made the league perfect with the three in the spa town. The FSV did not give up without a fight, but the hosts noticed that the importance of the game was low and the focus was already on the district cup final on Whit Monday. The guests were relieved and happy after the final whistle, the team of interim coach Özen Aydin is now spared a final on the last day of the game against Germania Dörnigheim. The Steinheimers started nervously. A counterattack by Sheriff Camara could only be stopped by Bad Orbern with a foul; Shortly before half-time, Johannes Rachor converted the penalty due to take the lead at the break. Shortly after the change of sides, Steinheim’s Pio Busch had to leave injured, but second-team striker Steffen Oeler represented him splendidly and scored Steinheim’s away win with a brace.
With the secure remaining in the league, personnel planning can be accelerated at SVG. “The core of the team stays together,” says SVG department head Bernd Hartmann. Sheriff Camara, previously courted by the SC 1960, also remains. Former professional Fouad Brighache will continue his career for another year.
Steinheim: Mermertas – Hartmann, Lundy, Brighache, Rachor, Camara, Quantz, Skok (58th Andrejic), Hillemann, Löffler (68th Geisler), P. Busch (48th Oeler)
Goals: 0:1 Rachor (40th/FE), 0:2 and 0:3 Oeler (64th/71st)
SG Rosenhöhe Offenbach – SG Marköbel 2:1 (2:1). In the end there were only winners at the Rosenhöhe: The SGR finally secured the vice championship, the SG Marköbel can no longer be relegated due to the defeat of Türk Gücü Hanau in Seligenstadt. The SGR underpinned their claims in the first quarter of an hour with two goals, Yasir Bashir’s goal (37th) kept the tension in the game, which remained at an average group league level overall. “We didn’t play an outstanding game, but the fact that we secured the runners-up championship means something to us,” emphasized SGR spokesman Tim Kleinschmidt.
