Sebastian Vettel, experienced driver of racing team Aston Martin, has no good words to say about the misbehavior of Formula 1 fans around the Austrian Grand Prix. The German believes that fans who are guilty of racism, sexism or homophobia deserve a lifelong suspension.

“Whoever these people are, they should be ashamed of themselves and they should be banned from racing events for life,” said the four-time world champion.

Earlier, Formula 1 and a large number of teams also condemned the behavior of some, mostly Dutch, fans on the Red Bull Ring. Vettel hopes that firm action will be taken. “I don’t think there should be any tolerance for these so-called fans.”

Shortly after the race, Vettel met two female racing enthusiasts who had complained about the behavior of other fans at the Red Bull Ring.

Vettel’s team Aston Martin posted a photo of it on Twitter. “More needs to be done to make F1 a safer sport for all fans. All in, all welcome, all celebrated“, the team wrote.

On Sunday evening, several drivers were extremely critical of the events around the Austrian circuit. So is Max Verstappen. “I read some things and also shocking texts. We shouldn’t have to talk about this,” said the reigning world champion.

“And: it’s no excuse, but parties and alcohol sometimes lead to stupid behavior. If you’ve had too much to drink, it’s better to go to bed, sleep in and get up sober in the morning.”
