/ world today news/ The highlight of this year’s edition of “Fortissimo Fest” will be the jazz improvisations of master violinist Vesco Panteleev-Eshkenazi. The soloist of the Concertgebouw, the Royal Dutch Orchestra, and the sextet of Mikhail Yosifov will measure virtuosity in a unique show in front of the National Theater on September 8, informs “Standard”.
The musicians are rehearsing a piece by the Brazilian Antonio Carlos Jobim, Frank Sinatra’s cover, with whom they sing the evergreen The girl from Ipanema. The piece that Eshkenazi is working on is called “Louisa”, the arrangement is by Valentin Spasov, and Pechenkata, or Adriana Nikolova, as her real name is, will also be involved in it.
Of course, Maxim, ideologue and founder of “Fortissimo”, has conceived a unique program. There will be 11 works from Oscar-nominated or awarded films, classical pieces and, for the first time, music themes from video games. Maxim, who has been traveling the world with the baton all summer, is particularly excited about this part. He has personally selected the tunes from the games Halo, World of WarCraft and Civilization IV. With this, the native fest joins a not so old, but gaining more and more speed tradition around the world – to make concerts only with music from electronic games.
Maxim will bring on stage not only his cousin Vesco, but also his brother Harry and his father, also violinists. The four will play together for the first time since the unforgettable concerts they performed in Grandma Violetta’s living room. “Oh, what gatherings,” commented Maxim ecstatically.
