‘Very special’ Phil Foden praised by West Ham star Declan Rice as Manchester City youth smashes PSG with electric screen

If you didn’t think Phil Foden was world class before, then we’re pretty sure his performance against PSG will have changed your mind.

The Man City playmaker led the show as Pep Guardiola’s men advanced to their first Champions League final with a 4-1 aggregate victory over PSG on Tuesday night.

.

Foden ran the show against PSG and many have praised his performance

Foden, who is still 20 years old, caused PSG all kinds of problems throughout the game.

After Riyad Mahrez scored the first goal in the first half, Foden put the Algerian ahead for his second with sublime delivery after combining with Kevin De Bruyne to nearly send City away.

Moments later, the electric youngster deftly controlled the ball before sprinting and firing a thunderous effort from the post.

And his teammate in England, Declan Rice, couldn’t hide his admiration for the 20-year-old.

“Foden is very, very special,” Rice declared on Twitter.

With his assistance, Foden also became the first Manchester City player to score ten goals and as many assists this season.

The so-called ‘Stockport Iniesta’ is playing himself into a starting spot at Euro 2020, especially as he currently keeps Raheem Sterling out of the City XI.

Former Manchester City winger Trevor Sinclair, like the rest of us, was in awe of that performance.

He told talkSPORT in a comment: “I realized what Man City had done in the middle of that second half. His game management was excellent.

.

The city was just amazing

“In the middle of the second half, they were so sure they were going to keep a clean sheet that they started cheating, giving PSG extra bodies and then on the fast break, as we saw with Phil Foden showing incredible maturity.

“Once they have that opportunity to fight back, they go like a thunderbolt and finish with goals.

“That’s where Mahrez’s second goal came from. They let PSG make a mistake and then, as soon as the ball was flipped, they attacked them with a serious step.

“Phil Foden’s maturity this season and in this game shone. An incredible performance from everyone involved.
