Bergen municipality states on Sunday that no new cases of infection have been registered in the municipality in the last 24 hours.
This has not happened since August 25 last year.
– It is very gratifying that we can report zero registered newly infected last 24 hours. Very soon we can put the pandemic completely behind us, says health councilor Beate Husa.
Several are vaccinated
She adds that ever larger vaccine deliveries and a high willingness among people in Bergen to get vaccinated, makes the time ahead look much brighter.
– By the first week in August, we aim for everyone over the age of 18 to be offered a vaccine.
The head of the Bergen emergency room, Dagrun Linchausen, is also pleased with the news.
– This may indicate that we have managed to beat down the wave of infection. Now it is important to continue to follow the infection control advice going forward while we vaccinate all residents. Then we can keep the good situation.
On Sunday, there are also no inpatients at the hospitals in Helse Bergen. There have been few or no hospitalizations at the hospitals in the Bergen area recently.
