The fire department received the first reports around 6:00 AM, but it was quickly scaled up to a ‘very large fire’. The fire department is on site with a lot of equipment to fight the fire. The fire broke out in a business complex, so according to the Utrecht Safety Region (VRU) it is not yet entirely clear which companies have been affected.
According to the VRU, the building was ‘completely on fire’. The fire released a lot of smoke, which went towards the Veldhuizen district. Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed.
