Schagen
In the event of a very large fire on industrial estate De Witte Paal in Schagen, a kitchen shop and a bicycle shop went up in flames on Monday evening. The N241 was partially closed off for some time due to the smoke.

The affected companies are Van Slageren Keukens & Interieur and Bike Totaal Boersen. Both cases can be considered lost, reports the Noord-Holland Noord security region. The fire brigade was busy preventing the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings. Around midnight the danger of transshipment had disappeared.

Because of the smoke, the N241 was closed for some time between Haringhuizerweg and Kogerlaan / Snevert.
There is at the #fire at De Witte Paal in #Schagen no more chance of fire spread to the surrounding buildings. The N241 has also been released.

The Safety Region advises local residents to close windows and doors and to turn off ventilation.
The owners of the buildings in the area can report for more information about the fire at the McDonald’s on the Grotewallerweg, tweet the Security region just before midnight.
The fire brigade has been pulled out with large equipment and surrounding forces come to the rescue of colleagues from Schagen. A platform is used to fight the high flames.
Nobody was injured. Exactly where the fire started is still unclear.

Second fire in a short time
It is the second fire on the industrial estate in short time. Four days ago, in the night from Wednesday 5 to Thursday 6 February, a large fire broke out in a multi-company building. Residents of apartments above the business premises were then evacuated.
Kitchen store and bicycle shop are lost at #brandwittepaal. Fire brigade tries to prevent fire from spreading to surrounding buildings.
