Very heavy traffic from re-entry on the AA motorway network

(ANSA) – TRIESTE, AUGUST 24 – Saturday with very heavy traffic on the entire network of Autostrade Alto Adriatico, in line with forecasts and, so far, slightly up (+2%) compared to last Saturday. Up to 4 pm, 72 thousand exit transits had been recorded at the toll booths (of which 12,500 in Latisana); 78 thousand incoming, of which 18 thousand at the Lisert barrier in Trieste and almost 9 thousand in Villesse; over 3,300 transits per hour on the westbound carriageway (Venice direction). Latisana itself, where there is exodus traffic, especially of Austrian and German tourists, Lisert and Villesse, where part of the return from Slovenia and Croatia is concentrated) were the “special observers” of the weekend. In Latisana, queues formed at the exit preceded by queues of about 5 kilometers (around 12:00) on the stretch of the A23 between Udine Sud and Palmanova Node. As for the Lisert, in the face of an 8% increase in flows compared to the same Saturday in 2023, there were 5 kilometers of queues at the entrance (like last year). For Autostrade Alto Adriatico, therefore, the collaboration with Dars worked, which through variable message panels recommended the alternative route, the H4 bypass (Podnanos-Vrtoiba) – A34 (Gorizia – Villesse) as an alternative. The numbers at the Villesse toll booth are also increasing compared to 2023: at 16:45 the queues at the Lisert were almost completely absorbed at the toll booth and reduced to one kilometer. Today’s traffic developed on the A4 especially in the direction of Venice. Queues were recorded at times, starting at around 12:00, between Redipuglia and the Palmanova Node and between Latisana and San Donà. Tomorrow, according to forecasts, should be a quieter day (heavy traffic and yellow warning) with around 163 thousand transits. The ban on heavy vehicle circulation will be in force from 07:00 to 22:00. (ANSA).
