The snow is bad this Friday morning in the North of Loiret: the wind since the night of Thursday to Friday came to reduce the snow already fallen on the roads last Wednesday. Result : snowdrifts form on the roads everywhere in the Pithiverais and Beauce.
In these two sectors, traffic is very complicated this Friday morning: the secondary network is described as very difficult by the teams of the departmental council of Loiret, with cars and trucks in difficulty. Let us quote the RD 955 between Orléans and Chateaudun, the RD 2020 north of Orleans around Chevilly, the D11, the D2152.
40 cm of snow in places! “
Patrick Langlois, motorist who left Autry-sur-Juine this Friday morning, via the D 97 towards the A 19, testifies: “There is 40 to 50 cm of snow on the road in places and the passage of the spreaders does not change much, because the wind constantly pushes the snow on the road, it’s a disaster!”
“Our services are on the war footing and are trying to free motorists stranded in their cars, but the weather is not helping us. The north of Pithivrais is affected, in particular the D97 towards Etampes and the D955 towards Chateaudun”, explains Jack Lemaitre, of the road service of the Department of Loiret. At 8:20 am, there were seven kilometers of traffic jam between Orléans and Chateaudun.
The Department of Loiret recommends that you do not take the road as far as possible in this northern sector of Loiret this Friday morning. Rémi school transport does not run this Friday morning in the Loiret.
Regarding public transport, the TAO bus and tram network runs normally in the metropolis of Orleans.
