“Very Cool People” offers fans a new video “Alone in Biksti”

When “Very Cool People” goes to play concerts in Liepāja and drives through Biksti, the members of the group have a tradition of beating each other, thus waking those who are asleep and quite annoying those who have weaker nerves.

“Traditions must be followed,” said Elvis Graftsov, the band’s spiritual leader and guitarist. “Besides, when driving back to Riga, whether it be at night, when everyone is tired after the concert, or the next day, when everyone is even more tired after the night party, everyone in Biksti is panted as long as we are within the village.”

In the composition “Alone in Biksti”, the group tells about a musician who came to Biksti alone and who has nothing to beat. The melancholy theme of the song, therefore, is about the harsh reality, when you are already completely alone and then it turns out that Bikstos. However, the exhilarating part of the piece allows us to realize that nothing is over yet, and raises a joyful hope that the main character will once again come to Biksti with his comets to flick.

The video version of the single has once again been created by the group’s trumpet player and kebab business magnate Oskars Ozoliņš, with the help of a plot and some directing lines also helping Elvijs Grafcovs, who is also the author of the new composition. This composition is like a mixture of my various musical influences – Ennio Morricone mixed with “Dire Straits” with gypsy jazz together with the attitude of “Too Many Zooz”… ”.

Tālis Timrots was at the recording desk in the “Mints Music” studio in Riga. The recorded material was mixed by Andris Buikis at the “Ciemupe Productions” studio outside Latvia, but the master version was created by Dave McNair at the “Dave McNair Mastering” studio in the American Far East.

All the most “cool” musicians still participate in the new composition: Oskars Ozoliņš – trumpet, Māris Jēkabsons – tenor saxophone, Laura Rozenberga – trombone, Kristaps Lubovs – baritone saxophone, Elvijs Grafcovs – guitar, Māris Vitkus – keyboard instruments – drums and percussion.

From August 30, the new “Very Cool People” song “Alone in Biksti” can be heard on the largest music streaming platforms and heard on the world’s best radio stations.
