Olimpia beat Sol de América by the minimum score on Tuesday at the Rogelio Silvino Livieres stadium, on the fourth date of the Clausura 2024 tournament. They did so with a header from the Argentine defender, Manuel Capasso, which ended up being decisive in a very tough match for the team led by Martín Palermo.
In the 13th minute, Erik López fell in the opponent’s area and the referee of the match, Carlos Paul Benítez, sanctioned the maximum penalty for the “Decano”. Despite the protests of the “Danzarín” players, he ordered everyone to get in their places and for the person who took the penalty to prepare.
However, after almost three minutes of talks with the players, Carlos Paul Benítez was called by Fernando López from the VAR and when he looked at the monitor he ended up changing his decision, nullifying the penalty.
What I found strange about this play is that Fernando López, in charge of the VAR, took almost 3 minutes to call Carlos Paul Benítez. pic.twitter.com/YPPEVyg7J2

Guaraní, together with the brand that dresses it, Kyrios, announced this Wednesday the launch of a special edition shirt in honor of a very good cause: seeking to save and care for macaws.
“The Guarani club and Kyrios launch a special edition shirt where, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of the conservation and protection of this
species, they also seek to save urban macaws,” the statement begins.
The shirt is mostly black, with yellow details, but especially with the color of the macaws’ feathers on the shoulders and sleeves. It is made in collaboration with ASORA Paraguay, an organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of urban macaws.
The ticket will cost G. 260,000 and will be sold exclusively at the Guaraní club store on Eusebio Ayala Avenue. In addition, part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to ASORA Paraguay projects.

After facing their respective matches on Tuesday of the fourth date of the Clausura 2024 tournament, Olimpia and Libertad are already preparing for the black and white classic, which was initially scheduled to be played at the Rogelio Silvino Livieres stadium.
Finally, the clash between the “Decano” and the “Gumarelo” for the fifth date of the championship will be played at the Luis Alfonso Giagni stadium in Villa Elisa, this Sunday, August 11, from 4:00 p.m.
It is worth remembering that Libertad is coming from a draw with Sportivo Trinidense in Villa Elisa, due to the fact that its sports facilities are undergoing improvements. Meanwhile, Olimpia is coming from a win against Sol de América, but in Dos Bocas.
It will be the first time that the “Dean” will play at home in the metropolitan area in the Clausura 2024 tournament, given that its first two matches were played in the interior of the country; first in Ciudad del Este and then in Encarnación.
The change is somewhat surprising, considering that a game of this magnitude is usually held in stadiums with a larger capacity. Olimpia has already announced that “the event will be exclusive for current members.”
