Verstappen wins the Austin sprint, Leclerc third – Il Tempo

AUSTIN (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – Max Verstappen took home the sprint race of the United States Grand Prix, on the Austin circuit, thanks to an excellent start and a superior pace compared especially to Mercedes and Ferrari. Nothing to be done for Lewis Hamilton, who started third and managed to overtake Leclerc’s Ferrari at the start of the race: the seven-time world champion was unable to catch up with the world champion’s Red Bull and finished behind, in second place, with a gap of about nine seconds. Third was the Monegasque’s Ferrari, which withstood the attacks of Norris on McLaren and Perez on Red Bull, with the latter therefore finishing in fourth and fifth position respectively. Immediately behind, sixth, was the other Ferrari of Carlos Sainz, which started with two excellent overtaking moves but was then penalized by its pace, with Gasly (Alpine), Russell (Mercedes), Albon (Williams) and Piastri (McLaren) closing the Top Ten.
