In final practice for the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix, Verstappen was fastest ahead of Pérez and Russell.
In the second practice, the riders did not do much due to the wet track, some even nothing, so the activity in the last practice was a little more than usual. But the McLaren and Alpine drivers left later.
Alonso received the parts that arrived at the circuit overnight. Both drivers thus drive with an improved car.
After Friday, perhaps everyone was optimistic. But it was worse during training. Pérez complained about the handling of his car, Albon even said that he had zero confidence in the car.
We also saw the clocks put in by Magnussen and Ricciardo.
Hamilton was in the lead for most of the practice session, setting the time on soft tires at the start.
In the last ten minutes, the qualification simulations came to the fore. Verstappen took first place ahead of Pérez and Russell. The Ferrari drivers took up to seventh and tenth place respectively. Leclerc complained after practice that the team sent him to the track late, so he missed the second qualifying round.
