Verstappen: ‘It’s good that the team had a week off after stress in Hungary’ | NOW

Max Verstappen is looking forward to the fourth race of the Formula 1 season, although he still thinks a lot about the race in Hungary more than a week ago in the run-up to the Grand Prix of Great Britain. The Red Bull Racing driver seemed unable to start after a crash before the start of the race.

22-year-old Verstappen shot the wet Hungaroring off the track and damaged the nose and steering rod of his car. Surprisingly, the Dutchman was able to start the race, which he even finished second, due to the good work of the Red Bull mechanics.

“It is good that the whole team after the triple header had a week off to be at home with family. Especially after that little bit of extra stress just before the race in Hungary, “said Verstappen on his own Tuesday evening in the run-up to the British Grand Prix site.

“I watched the video to see how the mechanics on the grid worked on my car. It was amazing what they did. It was great to see that they all knew exactly how to work and what to do, even in such an unexpected situation. “

“Rain Could Shake Things Up”

After a messy start to the season, Verstappen is working towards a new triptych, starting with two races at the Silverstone circuit in Great Britain. The Red Bull driver has not finished on the podium in England in the last three years, but is looking forward to the Grand Prix.

“Silverstone is a very nice track to drive, one with insanely fast turns. You have to have the right wing setting and of course you want more for the slower turns downforce and have a grip, “said Verstappen, who hopes for a wet track.

“It could be raining at Silverstone, of course, and I love those conditions. So maybe we wouldn’t mind if that happened. That could shake things up.”

Verstappen hopes to compete for the world title this season, but the Dutchman has already been put behind in three races by Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. Hamilton leads in the World Cup standings with 63 points. He has five points more than teammate Bottas and thirty more than Verstappen.
