Red Bull Racing must do everything possible to solve the problems with the RB16 as soon as possible. Mercedes has a big lead over the competition and the Red Bull engineers have to close this gap. Max Verstappen holds his heart and thinks this may take a while.
In Austria and Hungary it became clear that the RB16 is not yet the car with which Verstappen can compete with Lewis Hamilton. The Honda engine does not yet have the desired power, but the balance and aerodynamics of the car are also concerns. To fix the problems as quickly as possible, Red Bull Racing has brought in new parts for this weekend. At Silverstone they hope to take a step in the right direction. However, Verstappen says that we should not expect the updates to suddenly fix everything. According to him, it takes time to get all issues out of the world.

The problems with the car are not simply solved by exchanging one or two parts, says Verstappen. “It is not a matter of what has been resolved within a week,” said the Limburger during the press conference in Great Britain. If Red Bull can stay within half a second of Mercedes at Silverstone, Verstappen is already satisfied. Whether that will work out remains to be seen. Verstappen therefore keeps his heart, because he knows that Mercedes at Silverstone is usually a lot faster than Red Bull. “The (hole) can be two tenths, but also a whole second,” he says.
