Veronika Khek Kubařová on the comedy Wishes to Santa Claus

Kubařová turned to her older and more experienced acting colleagues when asked about the interesting spiciness of filming.

“For me, it’s really spicy to play with Jaroslav Dušek and Eva Holubová, who have a chance to improvise a bit and it was a real ride with them. When I came home from filming, I even thought I was actually working. I had a coma like that, as I watched them in fascination, how they make up, that I completely forgot that I was at work, “Veronika Khek Kubařová told the News.

The actress believes that the comedy can create the right Christmas atmosphere also thanks to the fact that the creators in urban conditions managed to secure a proper share of snow.

“I think it’s just a Christmas movie. We really managed to catch the snow there, which is rare for me, because we know what the last winter is like in Czech conditions, ”she added.

The Christmas comedy by Slovak director Marta Ferencová The creators liken Santa’s wish to the successful British-American comedy Love of Heaven. The actress Elizaveta Maximová, who played the role of Nela in the film, also finds similarities.

“The wish for Santa Claus takes place during Christmas Day, during one day. This is what we have in common with Heavenly Love. But I think that our characters may have a little more pain in them, everyone carries a story. I’m actually very curious whether it will be similar or not, “Maximová told Novinky.

She also enjoyed filming thanks to her film colleagues. In Wish Santa Claus, the singer Richard Krajčo stood by her side in the role of Mikuláš. Maxim praised his acting.

“He’s an incredibly great actor, he absolutely got me on the first rehearsal and he basically gave me a lot as an acting colleague, so I had a feeling for a while that I don’t have to play anything and I just need to receive his energy from him,” she explained.

According to the actress, the filming of the comedy, which took place during last autumn’s wave of covid, was accompanied by great luck. “We were filming in the worst wave of covid in November and December, and none of us got infected or had to quarantine, which was rare compared to other payers. So we could have existed somewhere without a veil for at least twelve hours, “Maxim added.

The situation comedy Wishes to Santa, which is the media partner Právo and Novinky, will hit cinemas on 25 November.
