Venice in winter – this is the opportunity to experience the Serenissima in its purest form. Wolfgang Salomon invites us on a very personal journey: He drifts through the pre-Christmas Calli and Campi, enjoys the January sun at the Lido, gives tips for visiting museums on wet and cold days and gets lost in a pitch-dark crypt. On culinary and musical tracks he leads us through Venice after midnight, walks dry feet through the lagoon at low tide and discovers the fourth color of wine. He tells stories of the frozen lagoon, documents the damage caused by the last Acqua Alta and reports on the unshakable solidarity of the Venetians. In short: it shows that the lagoon city reveals its true face in inverno.
