To verify an account, usually WhatsApp will send a verification code every time the user installs on a new device or will restore the account. This verification code will be sent via SMS containing six digits.
Well reportedly WHatsApp is working on a new way to verify WhatsApp accounts.
Reported detiKINET from The Next Web, Tuesday (8/6/2021) according to a report from WABetaInfo this method is called Flash Calls which is being tested for Android devices.

The way this flash call works is quite simple, users can choose to receive this verification call other than via SMS. After that WhatsApp will call the user for a while and end the call here the user does not need to pick up.
When this feature is launched it is likely that this verification method will be activated WhatsApp will only be available on Android devices. Because it is known on iOS does not allow the application to read call history.
WABetaInfo says although the app will access the user’s call history to compare the last entry, it will not access the user’s data for other purposes.
