This game was supposed to take place in August last year. But then the match was postponed so that the white and blue could better prepare for the performances in the playoff round of the Conference League qualification against the Turkish Besiktas, to whom Dynamo eventually lost twice – 2:3 and 0:1.

The last time Veres did not lose to Dynamo in the capital was in September 2017 (0:0). Then there were three consecutive guest defeats. But in March of this year, Veres already managed to interrupt the overall six-game winning streak of the Dynamo team in matches against the red-black team. Therefore, there is some hope for the evangelists.

The disqualified Iago Siqueira did not go to Kyiv as part of the red and black team. And also injured Denys Yanakov and Marko Mrvalievich. Understanding the importance of the next championship game against Minaj, Oleg Shandruk also rested a number of key players today. Instead, Vadym Yushchyshyn played his first match of the season. Oleksandr Melnyk also played for the first time in a Veres T-shirt.

Even in such conditions, the guests offered Dynamo a very competent defensive game. Kyiv controlled the ball a lot, but without any completion. In addition, Veres tried to counterattack.

But the game plan of Oleg Shandruk’s team broke the standard. Just before the break, Volodymyr Brazhko took a free kick from the line of the penalty area, the wall crumbled, Vadym Yushchyshyn made a mistake and just hit the ball in front of him, and Andriy Yarmolenko was the first to finish – 1:0.

The red and black had a good chance to win back at the start of the second half. Vitaliy Dakhnovsky was running away in a counterattack, but under the pressure of the opponent, he was forced to punch from eighteen meters and George Bushchan parried this blow!

Then there was a save performed by Vadym Yushchyshyn! In the jump, the goalkeeper parried a header from Oleksandr Syrota! Literally from a few meters, the Dynamo player shot the goal of the equals.

And at the end of the game, Veres took a risk, began to open up and missed twice more. Matviy Ponomarenko, who had just come on as a substitute, opened up well in the penalty area, received a pass from Nazar Voloshyn and fired into the goal – 2:0. And in less than five minutes, Nazar Voloshyn went one-on-one with Vadym Yushchyshyn and passed the ball into an empty goal for Volodymyr Shepelev – 3:0.

Veres remained fourteenth and is preparing for Monday’s head-to-head match for survival in the UPL against Minaj.
