Venus’ surface and atmosphere will be mapped by Nasa

– These two sister expeditions both aim to understand how Venus became an inferno-like world, where lead melts at the surface, says the newly appointed Nasa chief Bill Nelson.

One project has been named Davinci plus and will deeply analyze Venus’ dense atmosphere, mainly consisting of carbon dioxide. A probe will be sent down through the atmosphere and its sulfuric acid clouds, to measure the presence of noble gases and other elements and thus find out how the atmosphere was formed.
