Ventura storms towards PGA card – friend Hovland leads – Eurosport

  • The Korn Ferry Tour Championship with Ventura continued this week Max and Eurosport.no!

Kristoffer Ventura followed up Thursday’s round of 70 strokes (two under par) with another round of 70 on Friday.

The Norwegian started with a birdie on the opening hole. There was a bogey on hole 2 (Ventura’s 11th hole of the day), but he finished strong with birdies on both holes 7 and 9.

He is currently 7th in the tournament at -4 overall.

After all players complete their second round, Ventura will likely finish 24th on the Korn Ferry Tour list. The top 30 after the end of the tournament qualify for next year’s PGA Tour.

Ventura played his first full season on the PGA Tour in 2019/20 after winning twice on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019.

18th place was the best result since the first season. He also played at the highest level in the 2020/21 season and got off to a good start to the season with 7th and 6th in two of the first three competitions, but after that things took a turn for the worse difficult for the Norwegians.

He ended up losing his playing rights and since then he has been fighting hard to get back to the top level of golf.

He has one runner-up finish (missing in the playoff) and nine top 25 finishes overall in this year’s Korn Ferry season.

Viktor Hovland’s good friend from college Zach Bauchou leads the tournament at -10 overall. The American is dependent on good competition if he is to get his card on the PGA Tour next season.
