Venceslav Stefanov commented to BLITZ about the case surrounding the derby between Levski and CSKA, which after a decision of the BFS was moved to be played at Gerena.

“There should be a match, but it shouldn’t be at Gerena. However, I won’t let them play at our stadium, because the two agitators gutted it several times. If they leave a deposit of 200,000 BGN each, they can,” said the president of Slavia .

“I am worried that the following may happen if there is a Gerena match without a “red” audience. CSKA fans will still go to the “blue” stadium. They will be upset that they are left outside. And it may happen excesses. And not small excesses, like those of November 16. Does anyone want a repeat of the bloody dramas in Sofia? No one wants…

They attack the BFS, blame the BFS, but I ask where is the mayor of Sofia? Where is the municipality? I heard that there was an idea for the match to take place on September 25, Wednesday. However, the mayor did not allow it because it was a weekday. Sofia would be blocked, there were enormous dangers. Wait, gentlemen who rule our fine capital. There were matches between Levski and CSKA on weekdays not once or twice. It was on Wednesday, Monday, Thursday. So – what prevents it from being the derby then?

The country is currently reeling from scandals and tension. No government, no cabinet. And if football ignites a spark, a big fire can break out.

Let an adequate decision be made and let it be reviewed and modified by the Appeals Committee. In this case, I am not defending CSKA, I am defending peace. Our football needs calm, not high tension bordering on a storm,” concluded Venci Stefanov.
