The conference “The Curve of Postcolonialism 1974-2024” organized by the Circle of Ideas, in collaboration with the Economic Forum of Delphi, in May in Athens, and in fact at the Great Britannia Hotel which this year celebrates the 150th anniversary of its opening of, attracted many people because of the multifaceted approach to all aspects of Postcolonialism.
Those who did not manage to attend it, as well as those who did and want to refer to his interesting discussions, can obtain the volume of the same title with the full proceedings of the conference published by “Epikentro” publications.
The Transition, referred to in the note by Evangelos Venizelos, which accompanies the edition, was examined as the moment of transition from dictatorship to parliamentary democracy but also as a period that begins in 1974 and lasts until today despite the significant changes that have taken place in international and national level, but which do not include a section historically comparable to the original event of 1974.

Not even the economic crisis possessed this quality, which, despite its significant effect on the stratification and attitudes of Greek society and the party system, ultimately confirmed the fundamental choices of the Post-colonial era, the participation in the EU and the Eurozone, and ultimately the acquis of liberal democracy.
Ev. Venizelos, who never stands still, is preparing the next conference, as well as the Constitutional Law seminars, which he will deliver in the coming months.
Although politically active, he does not move from the field of post-politics in which he places himself, not even for the sake of PASOK, which only helps in the pre-election contests of the parliamentary and European elections, but in the intra-party ones he maintains strict neutrality towards the candidates.
Undoubtedly, everyone would like his support, but they respect the role he has chosen for himself in recent years, staying away from party strife and fighting only national battles.
