Venice, “Io Capitano” actor Seydou Sarr and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye together in “Il sogno non ha colore”

Football has landed at the 81st Venice Film Festival. Maduka Okoye – goalkeeper for Udinese, the surprise leader of Serie A – walked the red carpet with Seydou Sarr, the star of Matteo Garrone’s “Io Capitano”.

The Nigerian player is among the protagonists of “Il Sogno non ha colore”, produced by Wonder Cinema and Rai Cinema in collaboration with Lega Serie A.

The documentary, which saw the participation of several players from our championship, focuses on the theme of integration and the fight against racism.

“It’s a new world for me,” Okoye said, “but I’m very happy: I have to thank Udinese and Serie A for this opportunity. This project is very important and I’m very happy to have participated in order to give a strong message on the topic of integration and to keep racism out of sports.”

“As footballers – continued the Nigerian goalkeeper – we must use our social media and our popularity to raise awareness on this issue, starting with children. I have never had any problems of this kind in Udine. The world of cinema fascinates me, it was wonderful to work with Seydou and his team. My favorite actor, after him, is Denzel Washington”.
