Venezuelans mobilize in support of Nicolás Maduro

Caracas. Citizens of Venezuela today held a national mobilization in support of President Nicolás Maduro two months after his victory in the presidential elections.

At the meeting held in this capital, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, assured that the people of this South American nation remain in the streets in defense of peace and their future.

“The project of the extreme right is the project of death, of violence, of fascism, and we here in the streets of Venezuela will continue to defend the Revolution, and our president,” he expressed in statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

“You cannot negotiate with fascism,” he stressed, “fascism is annihilated, because it is an expression of barbarism, an expression of hatred and genocide like the one Israel is perpetrating in the Gaza Strip, in Palestine.”

In his opinion, scenarios like the one experienced by those people were what the extreme right wanted for Venezuela.

“That is why today we are in the streets, defending our victory, celebrating the victory of the head of state, but also denouncing the atrocious crimes against humanity that are carried out in the Gaza Strip and in Lebanon (also under aggression Israeli),” he said.

For his part, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, also present at this mobilization, described what happened in Gaza as genocide and considered that the United Nations Organization is an inoperative, obsolete organization that does not take any decision.

“Today we march for peace, for tranquility, but also in rejection of violence, of war,” he expressed.

Local media broadcast images of the mobilizations in Caracas, as well as other states, including Nuevo Esparta, Yaracuy, Amazonas, Apure, Aragua, Cojedes and Táchira.
