The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, announced the request for arrest warrants against 13 opposition leaders for alleged crimes of “treason against the country,” including members of the work team of presidential candidate María Corina Machado and the president. from the NGO Súmate, Roberto Abdul.
Saab indicated that an arrest warrant has been requested against the coordinator of the Vente Venezuela organization, Henry Alviarez; against the communications coordinator Claudia Macero; and against the international coordinator, Pedro Urruchurtu, for his participation in the organization of the primary on October 22.
He also announced arrest warrants against opponents in exile: Yon Goicoechea, Juan Guaidó, Julio Borges, David Smolansky, Carlos Vecchio, Lester Toledo and Leopoldo López. To them are also added arrest warrants against former Chavista ministers Andrés Izarra and Rafael Ramírez.
“All of them linked to the crimes of treason, conspiracy with a foreign power to harm the State, money laundering, association to commit a crime,” said.
