Venezuelan infielder José Peraza was sent to the Triple A affiliate of the New York Yankees, the team reported through social networks on Tuesday, sports media reported.
In this way, the Bronx Bombers included the Creole along with his compatriots Ender Inciarte, Oswald Peraza and Oswaldo Cabrera on the payroll of the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
Peraza hit the conservative .118/.211/.235 line in the spring, added to his .446 OPS, numbers that didn’t allow him to make the team.
In the 2021 season, he saw action with the New York Mets, hitting .204 in 67 games. Peraza had chosen free agency and signed a minor league deal late last year with the Yankees.
In seven seasons played in the Majors, he has a career record of .266/.307/.373 with a .679 OPS.
