Likewise, he explained that today the ICJ is saying that “this conduct can be reviewed and its consequences and, in this sense, “Venezuela celebrates that the incidental sentence of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) recognizes the validity and validity of the Geneva Agreement of 1966, the only valid instrument to settle the controversy over the territory of Guayana Esequiba and that it is recognized that the conduct of the United Kingdom of Great Britain in perpetrating the fraudulent arbitration committed in Paris in 1899.”.
Maduro is pronounced
Through his Twitter account, President Nicolás Maduro confirmed that the National Government will continue the fight in defense of the Geneva Agreement, the only mechanism in force for the resolution of the territorial dispute over the territory of Guayana Esequiba.

The other side of the coin
The Guyanese president, Irfaan Ali, welcomed this Thursday, April 6, with satisfaction the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to reject Venezuela’s arguments that Guyana’s claims are inadmissible in the territorial dispute between the two countries, reports the EFE agency.
The Guyanese president affirmed that his country continues to trust that its former international border with Venezuela will be confirmed by the Court, in the framework of the dispute it has with Caracas in The Hague over the 160,000 square kilometers of territory located west of the Essequibo river.
“Ultimately, it will issue a final and binding determination on the validity of the Arbitral Tribunal Award of 1899 that fixed the land border between Venezuela and the then British Guiana”.
