Venezuela prepares for the II Expoferia Türkiye Caracas 2024

Caracas.- Venezuela will be the focus of the II Expoferia Türkiye Caracas 2024, which will take place from September 26 to 28 at the Simón Bolívar Park in La Carlota, where companies from the food and hygiene sector will participate, as well as incorporation into agricultural machinery and brown line.

In a press conference, the Turkish ambassador to Venezuela, Aydan Karamanoglu, said that the relationship between the two nations in terms of production continues with high levels of exports of pasta, wheat flour and other foods that are observed in the country’s supermarkets.

“Our goal for this year is to end with $850 million dollars, and in the first 8 months we have already reached $500 million dollars in commercial volume,” he specified.

He added that the medium-term goal set by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is to reach $3 billion dollars.

The Expoferia Türkiye is held within the framework of trade relations between Venezuela and Türkiye, with the aim of increasing economic growth between both countries.

The ambassador of the Eurasian country in Caracas, said that Turkish companies see Venezuela as a potential investment, which benefits both nations, and added that more than 40 companies will participate in this event, unlike last year, when only 30 of them were present.

Following the successful first expo fair held last year in 2023, Karamanoglu told El Universal that these activities have strengthened the existing business relationship. He also explained that the trade volume for 2019 was $150 million dollars, then in 2021 it reached almost $850 million dollars, while in 2022 it closed with almost $1.1 billion dollars, which has left a high increase in the last five years.

“These are significant amounts despite the distance, and these trade fairs help maintain this trade, not only in our exports here (from Turkey to Venezuela), but also in imports from Venezuela to Turkey.”

He stressed that the strongest sectors are food and beverages, as well as cleaning and hygiene. Meanwhile,The possibility was raised that in the year 2025 perform a third exhibition where other Turkish sectors will attend.

For those who wish to visit the expo, it will open its doors to the public free of charge and will take place from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
