(EFE) .- Venezuelan authorities neutralized one plane, the third in ten days, which they attribute to a Colombian drug trafficking group, reported this Saturday the head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), General Domingo Hernández Lárez.
The high official reported the fact through a message on his Twitter account in which he assured that it was the 55th aircraft neutralized in 2021 and that he associated the groups called by the Government of Venezuela as “tancol” (terrorists, armed men, Colombian drug traffickers), invented acronyms that do not correspond to any specific gang.
«National Sovereignty is not negotiated, it is defended. FANB (Bolivarian National Armed Force) neutralizes tancol aircraft No. 55 of the year 2021, which entered our airspace without an identification code using illegal tracks such as the products they traffic. Venezuela is drug-free territory, “said the military official.
However, Hernández Lárez did not detail the reason why the plane was associated with these groups drug traffickers, what military component carried out the operation, the area of the country that it was flying over or the amount of drugs it was transporting, or whether there was any arrest as a result of the incident.
On December 6 and on Tuesday 15, other aircraft were also neutralized. with characteristics similar to those described by the Venezuelan authorities on this occasion, without providing further details on the events, except attributing the flights without identification to Colombian drug trafficking groups.
The word “neutralize” is used ambiguously by the Venezuelan authorities and does not make it possible to clarify whether the planes were shot down in mid-flight or intercepted on the ground and dismantled.
