Venezuela: Major blackout; government accuses sabotage

Caracas. The fascist opposition in Venezuela threatened to attack the National Electric System, given the political debacle they face, they resort to trying to harm and punish the peopleVenezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil declared yesterday, after a surprise massive blackout.

The head of the Foreign Ministry condemned the opposition attacks and assured that the government of President Nicolás Maduro will protect Venezuelans and defeat, once again, the pretensions of criminals.

Since 4:40 a.m. local time yesterday, Venezuela experienced a major nationwide power outage that affected several states in the country, including the capital Caracas.

The Venezuelan president assured, in his Telegram account, that Desperate fascism will always want to attack the peace and well-being of the people.and described the power outage as sabotage, while sending a message to citizens to maintain the calm and nerves of steel.

He stressed that he remains at the forefront of the situation, next to the townto confront the criminal attack that directly harms Venezuelan society.

Meanwhile, former opposition candidate Edmundo González has for the third time ignored the Venezuelan prosecutor’s summons to appear despite warnings of arrest if he did not show up.

The meeting with the authorities was scheduled for 10:00 local time yesterday to explain his alleged involvement in crimes of usurpation of functions, falsification of documents, incitement to disobedience, computer crime, criminal association and conspiracy.

For her part, opposition leader María Corina Machado announced the day before yesterday, despite a possible arrest, that of course Gonzalez would not attend and would continue sheltered.

In a press conference with Spanish media, Machado denounced that Venezuela lives under a system totalitarian and expressed his fear that the Chavista forces could search the former diplomat’s home.

Meanwhile, Brazilian President Inacio Lula da Silva said yesterday that he will not recognize the victory of Nicolás Maduro or of the opposition candidate Edmundo González, until the voting records are made public.

I do not accept a victory by him (Maduro) or by the opposition; the opposition says that he won; he says that he won, but there is no proof; that is why we are demanding proof, obviously he has the right to disagree because I said that it was important that new elections be called.Lula said.

In this context, Lula added that he did not questions to the Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela, but he clarified that, in his opinion, this institution is not the appropriate one to resolve the electoral dispute.

President Maduro did not listen to the National Electoral Council and went straight to the Supreme Court; he should go through the council, which was created for that purpose.he noted.

Lula stressed that Maduro will have to accept the consequences of his decisions.
