(ANSA) – CARACAS, 04 SEPTEMBER – José Vicente Haro, the lawyer of the presidential candidate of July 28 Edmundo González Urrutia, met with the Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab. Haro explained to Saab the reason why his client did not respond to the three summonses of the Venezuelan justice in recent days, namely that he did not have “sufficient guarantees to attend the hearings to which he had been summoned”. Saab posted a photograph of the meeting on the official Instagram account of the Public Prosecutor of Venezuela, which on Monday confirmed the arrest warrant for González granted by the Court of First Instance with supervisory functions, competent for crimes related to terrorism. “Today, Wednesday, September 4, in my capacity as Attorney General of the Republic, I received José Vicente Haro on behalf of the citizen wanted by the Venezuelan justice system Edmundo González Urrutia, of which he gave me a written communication”, Saab declared on Instagram. “The aforementioned lawyer, like his client, as required by law, has recognized the constitutional and legal powers of the Public Prosecutor, as the holder of the criminal action, to undertake and develop the investigations that may be carried out. Tomorrow we will make the whole truth public,” he concluded. (ANSA).
