With goals from Da Mata and Dudu, the Brazilian team won this Tuesday, April 11, to beat Venezuela on the first date of the final hexagonal of the U17 South American Championship that takes place in the Ecuadorian capital.
Da Mata, at minute 6, and Dudo, at minute 33, converted the goals for Brazil, while Juan Arango discounted for Venezuela, at minute 52, in a match played at the “Atahualpa” Olympic Stadium in Quito.
Brazil opened the road to victory thanks to a goal by defender Da Mata who received and defined with a precise header to the right side of goalkeeper Jorge Sánchez, after a corner kick with a cross from Dudu.
Venezuela’s discount was born from a corner kick by David Martínez that found Arango well placed, who with a precise header scored on the opposite goal.
Venezuela was left without its main figure, Martínez, due to an injury and Mayken González entered in his place.
Near the end of the game, Venezuela enjoyed a great chance to tie, but Alejandro Cichero’s header shot grazed the left vertical, before the desperate look of goalkeeper Pires.
The second date will face Brazil against Paraguay next Friday, Venezuela against Argentina and Chile against Ecuador.
