This is an updated version of Sony’s original VENEZIA extension system. This means that the camera housing can be detached from the image sensor itself, without deteriorating the image quality.
VENICE Extension System 2 has several additions over the first model, including compatibility with both VENICE and VENICE 2. The system should create greater freedom of movement using a 3 or 12 meter cable, without the need for a repeater. The new system has almost the same dimensions as the original model with its 158 x 147 x 126 mm and a weight of around 2.1 kg. According to Sony, it should give filmmakers the creative freedom and the ability to shoot in tight spaces, use the camera by hand or mount the system on gimbals and cranes. The extender 2 has four buttons to which you can assign functions, such as changing the ND filter, start / stop recording and more.
