Carlos Vémola lost the opportunity to defend the MMA title of the Oktagon organization even before the duel with the Slovak Milan Ďatelinka due to failure to meet the weight limit. Although he was not in the best of health on Friday, he is convinced that he will win the battle.
Friday’s weighing was uncompromising for Vémol. While Ďatelinka met the weight limit without any problems and has a chance to win the belt for the champion, the Czech wrestler exceeded the limit by 0.6 kg. And doctors subsequently banned him from trying to further adjust his weight due to concerns about his health.
That Vémola was not in the best of health and that the weight loss was taking a lot of work for him, he already indicated his arrival for weighing, he staggered while walking, his team had to support him.
He received the information that he would not defend the title of champion in the middle weight category up to 84 kilograms in bed, but in sports.
“It’s the way it is. I didn’t do the weight, those are the rules. Respect for the opponent that he still wants to fight, I definitely want to start,” said Vémola.

“I won’t lose, after I went through this hell, I just won’t lose,” he said.
The Czech-Slovak battle will thus be the culmination of Saturday’s gala evening, the second main point of the program of the event in Brno’s Zoner Bobyhall will be the match of the leading Czech MMA fighter Lucie Pudilová. At the last minute, she replaced the positively tested Polka Marta Waliczeková and will face Maija Suotama from Finland.
