Velko Kanev receives “Icarus” posthumously –

One of the best Bulgarian actors, Velko Kanev, will posthumously receive the special “Icarus” award of the Union of Artists in Bulgaria for theatrical honor and dignity.

The distinction is awarded in exceptional cases and its recipient is determined by the chairman of the union, SAB chairman Hristo Mutafchiev emphasized to journalists.

Velko Kanev died at the age of 63 a month ago, on December 11, after four years of battling cancer of the vocal cords.
