According to the information of the organizers, who monitor the ongoing qualifying races, another possible contender for victory will be a horse whose career has been accompanied by frequent injuries. However, this season he lost due to a loose saddle in only one race, which was the last qualifying round at Velká Pardubická. This is the bay horse Lodgian Whistle from the stable of Josef Váni Sr., who is currently ridden by the Czech record holder in the number of hurdle victories, Josef Bartoš.

Only the best of the best can participate in the elite race. It is therefore necessary to overcome the qualification conditions or win the previous year. A horse can qualify for the prestigious event through four races held between the months of May and September. It is also possible to meet the conditions thanks to the Crystal Cup, steeplechase and steeplechase cross country races that measure at least 4800m and take place in Ireland, England, France or Italy.
