Veiviržėnai dispensary will not be closed or moved to other premises

The municipality of Klaipėda district denies the information about Veivirženia dispensary allegedly being closed. Such talk has no basis. The main goal and priority of the municipality is for the residents to receive treatment services as close as possible to their homes, so the dispensary will continue to operate in the old premises, in addition, funds are being sought to renovate it and it is planned to attract a new family doctor here.

Rumors about the fate of the Veiviržėnai dispensary appear in the public from time to time. They are usually different, but the idea is always the same – the dispensary will eventually disappear. Such rumors, it seems, are spread tendentially, thus achieving some goals.

Klaipėda district municipality emphasizes that such rumors have no real basis. There was never any discussion in any format about the closure of the Veiviržėnai dispensary. On the contrary, the Gargžda primary health care center is currently looking for financial sources to renovate the existing dispensary premises. The building is old, it needs insulation, heating system and room repairs to make the dispensary comfortable and attractive for patients registered here.

There is no mention of moving the dispensary to other premises. The existing ones, although in need of repair, fully meet the needs of not only the doctors working here, but also the residents. They are spacious, conveniently located and suitable for this activity.

In addition, it is planned to repair not only the premises. We are also looking for new family doctors, so that the people of Veivirženice can receive the highest quality services. Right now, the Gargžda Primary Health Care Center is negotiating with a new doctor. It is expected that they will be successful and a new doctor will come to work in Veivirženi.

Klaipėda District Municipality draws attention to the fact that when making one or another decision regarding the dispensary, the community should always be consulted in order to find suitable options for everyone, therefore, in the future, it recommends to be more critical of spreading rumors, and if any questions arise, to contact the Municipality directly.
